Last week i visited the new natural history museum in Shanghai in the Jing'an sculpture park. The museum has a new home with six floors build around an atrium. Day light also reaches the floors below street level. The collection is vast with over 10,000 artefacts from all contents. A mixture of stuffed animals, skeletons and real size replicas. Particularly the first hall with that large scale animals is impressive. But also the many smaller specimens such as birds, insects and butterflies. The exhibition design is traditional but well taken care of for Chinese standards. All information is bi-lingual in both Chinese and English. Definitely worth a visit!
